Means Stay loyal to your friend; defend him by your money and yourself

 

§   Be careful of your enemy once and of your friend thousand times, for a double crossing friend knows more evil.

Means Better an Open enemy than a false friend or Better a devil you know than devil you don't know.

 

§   Adversity tries friends 

Means A friend in need is a friend indeed.

 

§   Man is like his friend 

Means A man is known by the company he keeps or Evil communications corrupt good manners.
